MARCH 3, 2010 –THE INSIDE STORY FROM DUPAGE COUNTY WOMEN WHO CHANGED HISTORY 

Presented by Darwin Walton, author, teacher and social activist will team up and Jane Heckman, community organizer and a founder of the DuPage YWCA. 

 

Branch member Glennette Turner moderated the discussion.  Darwin and Jane brought several friends with them, including Margaret Hamilton, the first woman mayor of Wheaton, who pushed for passage of Wheaton’s first Fair Housing Ordinance.

 

Jane Heckman passed away June 6, 2010.  We were extremely privileged to hear her stories in March.
